About This Position
FIRE SPRINKLER FITTER APPRENTICE
Total Fire Protection is seeking Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices to join our team and contribute to the safety and protection of lives and property. As a Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice, you will be an integral part of our installation and maintenance team, learning the skills and techniques necessary to become a proficient Fire Sprinkler Fitter. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will gain hands-on experience in the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings (steel, CPVC, and copper pipe)
- Participate in the assembly and installation of piping, fittings, and fixtures for fire protection systems.
- Work closely with experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitters to understand system blueprints, specifications, and design plans.
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions or damage in fire sprinkler systems, including valves, pipes, and other components.
- Learn and apply knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fire sprinkler systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and hand tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver license with a safe driving record required
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
